NCP supremo Sharad Pawar admitted to Pune hospital following throat infection, fever
PTC News Desk: NCP chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic on Monday after his health deteriorated at his residence in Baramati. According to his office, the veteran leader developed a bout of coughing and experienced breathing difficulties, following which it was decided to shift him to Pune for medical attention .
The 85-year-old opposition leader was taken to Pune by road, with his convoy leaving Baramati earlier in the day.
Pawar was hospitalised after complaining of throat-related issues and persistent coughing. A close aide said that Pawar is suffering from a throat infection and was being taken to Ruby Hall Clinic for detailed examination and treatment.
Confirming the development, Ruby Hall Clinic’s chief cardiologist and managing trustee, Dr Parvez Grant, said Pawar was being brought to the hospital. “Once he arrives, a team of doctors will examine him and then decide on the next course of treatment,” Dr Grant said.
A senior political leader and former Union minister, Sharad Pawar has continued to remain active in public life despite age-related health concerns in recent years. Further updates on his condition are awaited.
