During the raid, authorities found several women were locked in a room with their hands tied to a cloth while men were confined to dark, basement like rooms.

Old age home horror: Locked in room, hands tied, soiled clothes; 39 rescued from Noida

PTC News Desk: Elderly people locked in rooms, no staff to take care of them, some of them wearing urine and faeces-stained clothes, while others left on their in distressing conditions. A raid on an old age home in Noida led authorities to uncover inhuman treatment of its inmates. The residents were forced to care for themselves.


During the raid, authorities found several women were locked in a room with their hands tied to a cloth while  men were confined to dark, basement like rooms. A woman who claimed to be a nurse was later found to be only 12th pass. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Ashram had taken a donation of Rs 2.5 lakh from the families of the elderly people. Additionally, they also took Rs 6,000 per month for their food and accommodation.

A case has been filed against the old-age home and elderly people are being shifted to a government old-age home in couple of days. 

According to the Noida police, based on the complaint by State Women's Commission, a surprise inspection was conducted at Anand Niketan Vriddh Seva Ashram in Sector 55 where alarming irregularities were flagged. The process to seal the ashram has been initiated after the elderly people were found in distressing conditions. Strict measures are reportedly being planned against the ashram’s management.
