Operation Sindoor showdown: Debate in Parliament on July 28 as opposition intensifies demand for answers
PTC News Desk: A massive Operation Sindoor showdown is expected to take place on July 28 in the Parliament as government has designated the day to hold discussions during the monsoon session.
A time frame of 16 hours has been allotted to each Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are expected to speak as the Opposition intensifies its demand for answers.
The discussion will begin on Monday followed by the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
The development comes amid opposition's persistent demand to provide answers on Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor and subsequent matters surrounding national security. The opposition had earlier demanded to hold the discussion earlier than the stipulated time, however the government did not agree citing PM Modi's foreign visit and designated July 29 for the debate.
The stipulated discussion holds significant reverence following US President's bombshell claim that he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The debate has been timed to follow the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations on July 26, signalling a strategic framing of the military action as a moment of national pride.
