Indian Army denies reports of ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army along LoC
PTC News Desk: The Indian Army has issued a statement regarding the reports of alleged ceasefire violation from Pakistan Army along LoC surfaced. The Army has clarified that the ceasefire remains entact and no violation has been reported so far.
"Tension due to some stray incidents of cross LoC firing and a suspected IED blast on the LoC is being dealt with through the established mechanism. No exchange of fire of heavy-calibre weapons has taken place. Minor incidents are not unprecedented along the LoC," it clarified.
The Indian Army further said that it has raised concerns with the Pakistan Army at the appropriate level. "The situation remains stable and being closely monitored. Indian Army maintains high state of alertness and is dominating the Line of Control," the statement read.
Earlier several reports indicating ceasefire violation along the line of control by Pakistan Army surfaced. the reports also highlighted that the enemy side subjected to unprovoked firing and suffered heavy casualties with the extent of damage not known.
It also said that at least 10-15 round of bullets were fired from Pakistan side prompting a befitting reply from Indian Army.
The report further had said that the incident took place around 3 pm on a post of 6 J&K Light Infantry. Reportedly the Indian Army also retaliated to the ceasefire violation. However it is not known if there was any casualty on our side.
As the reports of unprovoked firing surfaced, speculations abuzz and it is suspected that the recent ceasefire violation could be a tactic by the Pakistani Army to divert the attention of Indian troops, facilitating terrorist infiltration into Indian territory.
In September last year, a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was injured when Pakistan Army opened indiscriminate firing in Akhnoor sector of Jammu.
Not to mention, a significant drop in ceasefire violation has been reported after February 2021 when both the countries acceded to observe the ceasefire agreement signed in 2003.
