Speaking at the World Leaders' Plenary during the AI Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that artificial intelligence must be guided by human values and clear rules. He added that when human effort and technological innovation work together, they can achieve remarkable results.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi present on stage, the ongoing rivalry in the AI world between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei became evident once again at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, as the two tech leaders appeared hesitant to hold hands during the event.
Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, said that Jio would play a significant role in India's AI transformation.
He also made three important announcements during his speech.
In addition, he also mentioned that Jio would take care that no one loses jobs because of AI.
Tata Group and OpenAI on Thursday announced a strategic partnership that includes plans to build 100 megawatts (MW) of AI infrastructure in India, with the ability to expand it up to 1 gigawatt (GW). The collaboration will also focus on speeding up AI adoption by businesses, creating industry-specific AI solutions, and improving AI skills among Indian youth.
Under a multi-year agreement, Tata Consultancy Services’ HyperVault unit will build AI-ready infrastructure powered by green energy to handle advanced AI workloads.
The new facility will include specially designed, liquid-cooled data centres with high rack capacity and strong connectivity across major cloud regions, helping position India as a global hub for artificial intelligence.

Talking about what India has built, French President Emmanuel Macron said, "A payment system that now processes 20 billion transactions every month . A health infrastructure that has issued 500 million digital health IDs. Here are the results. They call it the India Stack Open Interoperable Sovereign. That is what this summit is about."

The fourth day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 will feature a wide range of prominent speakers. The six-day summit, which started on Monday, is based on the theme “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya,” meaning “welfare for all, happiness for all.” This is the fourth yearly global event focused on artificial intelligence, after earlier editions held in the UK in 2023, South Korea in 2024, and France in 2025.
This year’s India AI Impact Summit is the largest so far. It will host leaders from more than 20 countries and over 500 global AI experts, including about 100 CEOs and founders. Among the other speakers are Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind chief Demis Hassabis, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, and Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji.
Prime Minister Modi said on Monday that the theme of the summit reflects India's shared commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence for human-centric progress.
"AI today is transforming several sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more. I am confident that the outcomes of the Summit will help shape a future that is progressive, innovative and opportunity-driven," he wrote on X as he welcomed world leaders and tech CEOs to the summit at Bharat Mandapam.
