New Delhi, August 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fresh verbal assault on the Opposition, marking the 81st anniversary of the Quit India movement. Honouring the participants of the historic movement, PM Modi emphasised a corruption and dynasty-free India.
On the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, PM Modi took a dig at the opposition, particularly the I.N.D.I.A alliance. He tweeted, "Tributes to the greats who took part in the Quit India Movement. Under the leadership of Gandhi Ji, this Movement played a major role in freeing India from colonial rule."
In a unified voice, PM Modi declared, "Today, India is saying in one voice: Corruption Quit India. Dynasty Quit India. Appeasement Quit India."
The Quit India Movement, known as the "Bharat Chodo Andolan," was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi on August 9, 1942.
Simultaneously, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced plans for the 'Quit India' campaign against the opposition bloc and scheduled a protest for later in the day.
During the foundation stone laying ceremony for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations in 27 states and UTs via video conferencing, PM Modi denounced "corruption, dynasty rule, and appeasement," urging these "negative forces to quit India." He reiterated that August 9 holds significance as the historic 'Quit India' day. The Quit India Movement infused new vigor into India's pursuit of independence, and today, the entire nation echoes the sentiment to rid the nation of evils.
He emphasised the unified call: "There is only one reverberation in all directions, and that is corruption quit India, dynasty quit India, and appeasement quit India."
