Police arrest main shooter in Delhi gym owner's murder
PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have apprehended the primary shooter responsible for the murder of gym owner Nadir Shah in the upscale Greater Kailash area of South Delhi last month. The suspect, identified as Madhur alias Mota Arman, is believed to have connections with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gangs.
The police acted on a tip-off that Madhur would be in the Narela Industries area of North Delhi on Saturday. A special team was deployed to lay a trap for him. When Madhur arrived on a motorcycle around 9 pm and was signaled to stop, he opened fire at the officers.
In response, the police returned fire, resulting in Madhur sustaining bullet wounds to his right knee and left ankle. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. A pistol and 12 cartridges were recovered from the scene.
An official confirmed the incident, stating, "In this shootout, Madhur sustained bullet injuries in his right knee and left ankle. A bullet fired by him hit Sub-Inspector Adesh Kumar, who was wearing a bulletproof jacket," as reported by news agency PTI.

The chilling incident leading to Shah's murder occurred on September 12, where CCTV footage captured Madhur, dressed in a checked shirt, firing at Shah. An associate of Shah managed to evade the attack, but the gym owner was shot six to eight times and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Authorities revealed that Shah, who had Afghan origins, became a target for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after he advised his business partner against paying ₹5 crore in extortion demands from the gang. Additionally, Shah had ties with South Delhi gangsters Ravi Gangwal and Rohit Chaudhary, known adversaries of Hashim Baba, a gangster operating in Northeast Delhi.
Sources indicated that Rohit Godara, a significant member of the Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility for Shah's murder, leveraging the existing animosity with Hashim Baba to orchestrate the killing. Hashim Baba involved Randeep, a gangster currently residing in the US, in the plot, while also engaging Sameer Baba, a jailmate from Tihar Jail, who had previously been threatened by Shah.
Prior to Madhur's arrest, at least four other individuals had already been detained in connection with the case, illustrating the complex network of criminal affiliations surrounding the murder. The investigation continues as police delve deeper into the intricacies of gang rivalries and the motives behind this high-profile killing.
