Pran Pratishta Ceremony: Check out schedule and key details

Pran pratishtha ceremony: The sculpture of 'Ram Lalla,' depicting infant Ram and crafted by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, has been chosen for the Ayodhya Ram temple following a panel's decision among three options. The black stone idol of Ram Lalla, crafted by Arun Yogiraj, received unanimous approval from the panel, as announced by Champat Rai, general secretary of the Ram Temple Trust, on Monday.

The newly selected idol, made of stone and weighing approximately between 150-200 kg, will undergo a consecration ceremony, according to Rai's statements to mediapersons in Ayodhya.

The sculpted idol portrays the deity as a five-year-old boy standing. The existing idol of Ram Lalla, revered for more than 70 years, will also find a place in the sanctum sanctorum of the new temple. Extensive preparations are underway for the pran pratishtha  (consecration ceremony) scheduled for January 22 at the Ram temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prominent leaders are expected to grace the occasion.

A grand gathering of over 7,000 has been invited to participate in the ceremony. The consecration ceremonies for the Ram temple are set to commence on Tuesday and will span over seven days, from January 16 to 22.
