Raja Raghuvanshi murder case: Meghalaya court grants 8-day police custody for victim's wife Sonam, 4 others

PTC Web Desk: In a crucial development in the high-profile murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a Meghalaya local court on Wednesday remanded all five primary accused—Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha, Vishal, Akash, and Anand—to eight days of police custody. The order followed a detailed request by investigating officers who sought extended custody to probe deeper into the alleged conspiracy.

According to the police, Sonam Raghuvanshi is suspected to have masterminded her husband's murder with help from Raj and his aides. The police believe the motive involved personal and financial angles, with Sonam allegedly maintaining a relationship with Raj and conspiring to eliminate her husband.

The investigating team now plans to take the accused to the crime scene for a step-by-step reconstruction of events. Officials say the investigation is moving into a decisive phase, with more revelations likely to emerge in the coming days as digital and forensic evidence is examined.
