9-year-old boy helps crack father’s murder in Alwar; mother, lover and contract killer arrested
PTC Web Desk: A chilling murder in Rajasthan’s Alwar district has come to light with a 9-year-old boy emerging as the key witness. His testimony led to the arrest of his mother, her alleged lover, and a contract killer in connection with the brutal killing of his father, Veeru Jatav, also known as Man Singh.
The murder took place on the night of June 7 in the Kherli area of Alwar. Initially passed off as a sudden health issue by the victim’s wife, Anita, the truth began to surface when their young son revealed the horrifying details of the night to the police.
According to the child's statement, Anita deliberately left the house gate open to let in five intruders—four hired killers and a man he knew as "Kashi Uncle," later identified as Kashiram Prajapat, his mother’s lover. The group entered the house around midnight and attacked Veeru as he slept. The child, pretending to be asleep, watched as his father was suffocated and beaten to death.
“I saw my mother open the gate for Kashi Uncle and four others. They went into the bedroom and attacked my father. Kashi Uncle held a pillow over his mouth. I was scared and kept quiet,” the boy told the police during questioning. He added that Kashiram even lifted and threatened him to ensure his silence.
The police later confirmed that the murder was premeditated. Anita, who ran a small general store, had reportedly developed an extramarital relationship with Kashiram, a local snack vendor. Investigators say the two plotted Veeru’s murder and offered Rs 2 lakh to hire contract killers.
On the night of the murder, Anita executed her part of the plan by leaving the main door unlocked. Kashiram and the killers arrived on a motorcycle, entered the house, and killed Veeru in his sleep. The following morning, Anita claimed Veeru had died of a sudden illness. However, signs of physical assault, including injury marks and a broken tooth, raised suspicion among relatives and the police. A post-mortem confirmed death due to suffocation and blunt force trauma.
Veeru’s brother, Gabbar Jatav, filed a formal complaint. The police reviewed over 100 CCTV clips and mobile records to trace the suspects. Anita, Kashiram, and one of the hired killers, Brijesh Jatav, have been arrested. Efforts are ongoing to locate the other three suspects.
