Multiple road tragedies in one day: 19 dead in Hyderabad bus-truck collision, 19 killed in Jaipur truck rampage, 30 injured in UP's Jhansi accident
PTC Web Desk: In a series of tragic road accidents across India on Monday, more than 40 persons were killed and several others injured in separate incidents in Telangana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
30 injured as bus overturns in Jhansi
Around 25 to 30 passengers sustained injuries after a speeding bus lost control and veered off the road near the BHEL outpost on National Highway 44 in Jhansi’s Babina area. The bus, travelling from Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh) to Jhansi, reportedly went out of control and rammed into a roadside field. The impact triggered panic among passengers as the vehicle overturned, leaving several people trapped inside.
Police and local rescue teams immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured to Jhansi Medical College for treatment. Senior district officials also visited the accident site to monitor the situation.
19 dead as speeding truck goes on Rrampage in Jaipur
In Rajasthan’s Jaipur, at least 19 persons lost their lives and several others were seriously injured when a dumper truck, allegedly driven by an intoxicated driver, went on a five-km rampage on Lohamandi Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the speeding truck rammed into multiple vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, crushing everything in its path. The rampage ended only after the truck crashed into several vehicles and came to a halt.
Police and rescue personnel pulled out bodies and injured persons from the mangled wreckage. An investigation is underway to determine how the driver managed to drive under the influence for such a distance.
19 dead, 20 hurt in Telangana bus-truck collision
In another devastating crash, 19 persons were killed and 20 others injured after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus collided head-on with a truck in Rangareddy district, near Hyderabad.
The collision was so severe that several passengers died on the spot, and both vehicles were completely destroyed. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and directed officials to oversee rescue and relief operations. He also instructed the authorities to shift the injured to Hyderabad for advanced medical care.
According to ADG Mahesh Bhagwat, the bus from Vikarabad depot was en route to Hyderabad when it was hit by a high-speed tipper truck coming from the opposite direction. “So far, 19 death, 10 women, eight men, and a three-month-old child, have been confirmed,” he said.
Bhagwat added that passengers with minor injuries were being treated at Chevella Government Hospital, while those critically injured were shifted to other hospitals. “As per the conductor’s statement, there were around 72 passengers on board, which we are verifying,” he added.
