SGPC president Advocate Dhami condemns Atishi's remarks against Sikh Guru, seeks her termination from assembly

PTC News Desk: Former Delhi Chief Minister Atish 's remarks against the Sikh Gurus has triggered massive outrage among the political and religious corridors.


Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee president Harjinder Singh Dhami has condemned Atishi's remarks, calling it them reflection of low and objectionable mindset of AAP leaders. 

Advocate Dhami said that Atishi’s comments in the Delhi Assembly about Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji have deeply hurt the sentiments of Sikhs, and the Sikh community will not tolerate this under any circumstances. He underlined the supreme sacrifice of ninth Guru of Sikhs Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji to protect the religion and the entire world remembers this with utmost respect and reverance. 

The SGPC chief said that using insulting words for the Sikh Gurus in a sacred democratic platform like the Delhi Assembly is not only unfortunate but also exposes the mentality of the Aam Aadmi Party. He questioned whether it is acceptable to play with religious sentiments for political gain.

Advocate Dhami urged the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly to immediately cancel Atishi’s membership. He also questioned the top leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party, asking whether the party would take strict action against its leader or remain silent on such statements.

He clearly stated that the Sikh community will not tolerate disrespect towards the Sikh Gurus at any level. If appropriate action is not taken in time, there will be widespread protests.
