Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut announces two-month break from public life over health issues, PM Modi wishes him speedy recovery
PTC News Desk: Shiv Sena leader on Friday announced a two-month long break from public life due to some serious health problems. Without delving into further details, Raut, 63, said he is undergoing treatment and will recover and return soon.
"As per medical advice, I have been instructed to avoid public appearances and gatherings for some time. I regret this deeply. I am confident that I will recover completely and, hopefully, meet you all again in the New Year," Raut said in a statement on X.
According to the sources familiar with the development, Raut has been advised complete rest as he underwent two angioplasties in 2019 and 2020.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him a speedy recovery and good health shortly after Sanjay Raut announced his break .
'Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji', PM Modi's post read.

Raut’s brief retreat from public life comes at a crucial juncture, with Maharashtra preparing for a series of important local body elections. Municipal council polls are expected in mid-November, followed by Zilla Parishad elections in December, and the high-profile Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls likely in January.
The BMC—long dominated by the undivided Shiv Sena for over 20 years—remains a politically and symbolically significant battleground for Raut’s party after the 2022 split. As a key strategist and one of the most outspoken leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction, Raut’s absence in the lead-up to these elections is likely to be strongly felt.
Known for his relentless criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government, Raut has long been one of their most vocal opponents.
