Sonepat double murder: Father, son shot dead in broad daylight by unknown assailants
PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident, two unknown assailants onboard Scorpio car shot dead a father-son duo riding a bike in broad daylight on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Dharamveer and his son Mohit, residents of Gopalpur village.
The incident unfolded on Friday around 10 am near Thana Kalan Chowk on the Kharkhoda bypass. According to the eyewitnesses, the duo was riding a bike and towards Kharkhoda when a Scorpio car approaching towards them sped up and opened multiple rounds of fire on father and son.
Later the attackers attempted to fled the scene, however their car rammed into a divider causing severe damages to the vehicle. The two attackers then fled on foot and later snatched a bike from a youth.
Soon after the information, police reached the spot and took both the bodies into custody and sent them to Sonepat Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
According to police, the preliminary investigation suggests long standing rivalry or personal enmity behind the firing killing both the father and the son on the spot.
Further investigation is underway.
