Two killed, several injured in bus-truck collision in Andhra Pradesh
PTC News Desk: At least two people were killed and seveal others injured in the early hours of Thursday after a speeding truck collided with a private bus in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal district.
The bus was travelling from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad in Telangana when its right-side tyre burst.
The collision caused both the bus and the truck to burst into flames. Local residents, along with the bus cleaner and conductor, smashed the windows and helped rescue passengers trapped inside.
The crash led to major traffic disruption for several hours as fire services and police worked relentlessly to put out the fire and clear the wreckage. Although fire tenders eventually extinguished the blaze, both vehicles were completely gutted. The bus driver and the truck driver-cum-cleaner died after suffering severe injuries and burns, and their bodies were later taken to a government hospital for post-mortem examinations.
All passengers survived the incident. Of the 36 people on board, four suffered minor fractures and were admitted to Nandyal District Government Hospital.
