Udaipur IT firm manager sexually assaulted in moving car, CEO among three arrested
PTC News Desk: A manager of a private IT firm was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving car in Udaipur, Rajasthan, after she accepted a lift home from a New Year party, police said.
The incident occurred after a party at a private hotel on December 20, which began around 9 pm and ended at about 1.30 am. When most guests had left, the woman was allegedly offered a ride home by the company’s CEO, a senior female executive, and the executive’s husband.
According to police, the woman got into the executive’s car, where her husband and the CEO were already present. During the drive, they bought smoking material and gave it to her. She allegedly lost consciousness after consuming it. When she partially regained awareness, she claimed the CEO was molesting her, and later all three accused sexually assaulted her.
She was dropped home around 5 am. After fully regaining consciousness, she noticed injuries on her private parts and found that some personal items were missing.
The woman filed a police complaint the next morning. Following an initial investigation, the police arrested the three accused — the company’s CEO Jayesh, co-accused Gaurav, and his wife Shilpa.
Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said the medical examination showed injury marks, indicating prima facie evidence of gang rape. Police are also checking audio and video recordings from the car’s dashcam as part of the investigation. The accused have been produced before a court, and further proceedings are underway.
