UP building collapse: 2 killed, 17 injured after roof of under-construction building collapses

UP building collapse: In a horrific and devastating incident, 2 labourers killed, 17 others injured after a roof of under-construction building collapsed in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. 

Rescuers, aided by local police, managed to extract 19 laborers trapped under the debris of the market building. Unfortunately, two individuals did not survive their injuries, officials reported.

The injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The tragic incident unfolded in Talda village under the Jansath police station limits when several labourers were working inside the house, the police said.

Two people, including the landlord and contractor, have been apprehended in connection with the incident.

As per the statement by the officials, “Authorities have apprehended two suspects, including the landlord and contractor, in connection with the incident, which occurred as a result of the market building collapsing in the Jansath police station vicinity."

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the administration to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and the safe rescue of the trapped persons.
