UP honour killing case: Class 12 student allegedly shot dead by father, brother in Shamli

PTC Web Desk:  A 17-year-old girl was allegedly shot dead by her father and minor brother in a suspected honour killing at Ambehta village on Sunday evening, the police said. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kandhla police station, Superintendent of Police N P Singh confirmed on Monday.

The victim, identified as Muskan, a Class 12 student, was reportedly taken to the upper floor of her house by her father, Julfam, and 15-year-old brother, where she was shot with a pistol. An FIR has been registered against both under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused have been arrested, and the firearm used in the crime was recovered.


“The father has confessed to killing his daughter to protect the family’s honour,” the SP said. It is learnt Muskan was in a relationship that her family opposed. The confrontation reportedly escalated when her father found her chatting on the phone, leading to the tragic incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
