Viral video: Ugly fight between two Bihar cops sparks investigation
Viral video: A shocking video has surfaced on the internet, showing two police constables fighting in broad daylight in Bihar's Nalanda. The two cops are seen fighting and then engaged in a violent fight in the middle of the road in Nalanda in a video that has gone viral on the internet.
The video shows one officer accusing another of accepting a bribe in public. The other cop smacked the first cop with the police stick as he tried to walk away. The two then engage in a fistfight, at one point grabbing each other's necks.
Meanwhile, other people can be heard threatening the officers with suspension. However, the cops ignored them and didn't stop fighting. Locals then intervened and tried to calm them down.
The incident was captured on camera by many bystanders and shared on social media.
Taking note of the viral video, Nalanda police stated both officers have been sent back to the police station and an inquiry has been launched.
''Both the police personnel have been sent to the police centre and the matter is being investigated. Disciplinary action will be taken," the police department wrote on X.
Bihar police also reacted to the video, saying ''Taking cognizance of the viral video of the dispute between two police personnel under Nalanda district on social media, the Superintendent of Police, Nalanda, has returned both the police personnel to the police centre and an investigation has been ordered.''
