Zipline mishap: 10-year-old critically injured after zipline snapped midair in Manali
PTC News Desk: A holiday in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, turned tragic for a family from Nagpur when their 10-year-old daughter was severely injured in a ziplining mishap.
The victim identified as Trisha Bijwe, fell nearly 30 feet into a gorge on June 8 after the zipline cable she was harnessed to suddenly snapped mid-air.
The accident took place at a tourist zipline spot in Manali, where the family was vacationing during the summer holidays.
This is why adventure sports aren’t safe in India. In Manali, a young girl fell from a zipline—nearly 30 feet—and is now seriously injured. Trisha sustained multiple leg fractures from the fall. The family alleged that the site lacked proper safety measures and that no immediate help was provided following the incident.
She was initially treated in Manali and later transferred to a hospital in Chandigarh. She is now receiving care at a private hospital in Nagpur, where her condition remains critical, according to her family.
The Bijwes have released a video capturing the moment the harness failed, and they are demanding accountability from the zipline operators along with stricter safety regulations at adventure tourism locations.
