WATCH | Massive fire at shopping complex in Greater Noida; people jump from third floor
PTC News Desk: Videos showing people jumping from as high as the third floor as a massive fire broke out in a Greater Noida complex have gone viral. The incident took place in a shopping complex in Greater Noida West on Thursday.
The mall, which is located in Gaur City 1, a housing society in Greater Noida West, houses numerous shops, food courts, restaurants, and a gym. The fire, according to reports, started on the third floor. One man can be heard yelling 'kud ja, kud ja (jump)' right before a person jumps to the ground amid a huge commotion.
Authorities suspect the fire was started by an electrical short circuit.
In the viral videos, people are seen hanging from the third-floor windows and eventually jumping as the flames and smoke grow.
