Woman kills 3-year-old daughter after fight with husband, roams with body for 4 km
PTC Web Desk: A Nagpur woman allegedly killed her three-year-old daughter after a fight with her husband and roamed around the city for about 4 km with the body, officials said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Monday evening in the MIDC police station limits, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Twinkle Raut (23) and her husband, Rama Laxman Raut (24) arrived in Nagpur four years ago to find work. They worked for a paper products company and lived in a room on Hingna Road in the MIDC region, according to an official. According to the police, their relationship was marked by frequent disputes caused by mutual distrust.
The couple fought again at 4 p.m. on Monday. During the heated conversation, their daughter started crying. In a flash of anger, the mother dragged her daughter out of the house. She allegedly strangled the child to death under a tree, according to the official.
She later walked with the body for nearly four km. She noticed a police patrolling vehicle at 8 p.m. and reported the incident to security staff, he added.
The cops took the child to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
He stated that the MIDC police arrested the woman and charged her with murder under Indian Penal Code section 302.
The woman was later produced in court and placed in police custody until May 24, according to the official.
