Navjot Sidhu's aide Mohammad Mustafa courts controversy over comments against Hindu community

Former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, who is close aide of PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, has courted controversy over comments against the Hindu community. A video has surfaced in which Mohammad Mustafa is heard threatening Hindus of dire consequences if they organised events near his event during a public meeting on January 20. In the purported video, he can be allegedly heard threatening of 'creating a situation that cannot be controlled if a particular community was allowed to hold their events near his events. The video of the hate speech was first shared by Chiranshu Rattan, the spokesperson of the BJP Punjab youth wing. [caption id="attachment_573930" align="aligncenter" width="750"] A still from the video.[/caption] Reacting to the same, Shazia Ilmi said, "Our team and Chiranshu got video and it was a speech given by Mustafa while campaigning during the election in Malerkotla, which is a Muslim-dominated area. This is a hate speech and he is trying to incite violence and disturb communal harmony by giving such provocative statements ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections." Also read | Now, six members can register using one mobile number on CoWIN portal According to the BJP leaders, this video is from Malerkotla, where Mustafa, who is the husband of Punjab Minister Razia Sultana, had gone for election campaigning. She further said, "The Election Commission should take cognisance of this video and should not allow Razia, who is an MLA from Malerkotla, to contest the Punjab elections." Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has also filed a complaint with the Election Commission seeking an FIR against Mohammad Mustafa for hurting religious sentiments. -PTC News
