Pakistan hands over two Indian nationals at Wagah Border
Two Indian nationals, who were lodged in a Pakistani jail for eight years, were handed over to Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Wagah Border. They were arrested on the charge of "illegal border crossing".

As per information, the two Indian nationals, Sharma Rajput and Ram Bahadur, had entered Pakistan's territory at the Line of Control (LoC) from Kashmir and were arrested by the Pakistan Rangers. They were put in a Pakistan jail. Later, it came to light that they were mentally challenged and had apparently crossed the border inadvertently. Their pictures and other credentials were shared with India and the Pakistan Rangers handed them over to the BSF on Monday," the official said. They were handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Wagah Border on Tuesday.
The cases of 19 Indian nationals arrested by the Pakistani authorities for alleged “spying and illegal border crossing” charges over a year ago, are still pending with the Federal Review Board. The police and the Pakistan Rangers had arrested the 19 Indians from various parts of the country under the Security Act and Secret Services Act of the country. They are lodged in different jails.

There are Indian and Pakistani prisoners in each other's jails and the two countries share the list of their inmates twice every year.
India-Pakistan relations deteriorated after Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad targeted a CRPF bus on February 14, 2019 at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir killing 40 jawans.
