PIL in Supreme Court seeking probe into violence during tractor march in Delhi

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a judicial investigation into violence during the farmers' tractor march in Delhi on Tuesday. Protesting farmers’ clashed with police and hoisted a flag at the Red Fort. As per the report, the PIL has been filed by an advocate in the Supreme Court, seeking constitution of a three-member panel of retired judges to look into the matter of violence during the farmers' tractor march in Delhi. The PIL also sought directions to the Delhi Police to register an FIR in connection with the violence. It also seeks permission to arrest those responsible for it. So far, 22 FIRs have been registered by Delhi Police while the police is trying to identify the protesters through CCTV footage. Meanwhile, assistance is being taken from Crime Branch to extract footage from CCTV at Lalkila, Nangloi, Mukarba Chowk, Central Delhi.
