PM Modi briefs President Kovind over Ukraine situation

Amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, India's efforts to bring back stranded students and citizens from war-torn Ukraine continues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called a meeting with President Ram Nath Kovind and briefed him about various issues, including the ongoing crisis of Ukraine and how India is dealing with it. PM Modi discussed and briefed him about the steps Indian Government is taking to bring back its citizens from Ukraine. PM-Modi-briefs-President-over-'Operation-Ganga'-2 Also Read: Russia-Ukraine war: Indian embassy advises its citizens to leave Kiev urgently The meeting was the second most highest level meeting on the prevailing situation of Ukraine after Mondays’ meeting, in which PM Modi presided over the Ukraine crisis and said that the entire government machinery is working round the clock to ensure that all stranded Indians in Ukraine are safe and secure. The Indian government has also launched "Operation Ganga" to evacuate Indians from Ukraine and its neighbouring countries. Some special flights will be operated from India as a part of the mission. Meanwhile 'Special Envoys', including Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and Gen (Retd) VK Singh, will travel to neighbouring countries of Ukraine to coordinate evacuations of stranded Indians amid ongoing Russian military operations in Ukraine. PM-Modi-briefs-President-over-'Operation-Ganga'-4 The seventh flight carrying 182 Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine reached Mumbai from Romania's Bucharest on the day. According to the sources, over 8,000 nationals have been evacuated till now. While the Indian Government boost the process of bringing Indians back from Ukraine, people all across India are carrying out candle march and praying for the safety and security of Indians with social media flooded with prayers. Earlier on Tuesday, the Embassy of India in Ukraine advised Indians to leave Kiev urgently today and special flights have also been carried out.
