PM Modi to unveil 108 ft Lord Hanuman statue in Gujarat's Morbi
New Delhi, April 16: On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 108 feet statue of Lord Hanuman in Gujarat's Morbi on Saturday. The construction of the massive statue began in 2018 and costs Rs10 crore, the trust informed. While Narendra Modi will take part in the event via video conferencing, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other leaders will remain present at the venue, as per the release. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the statue is the second of the four statues being built in the four directions across the country, as part of the 'Hanumanji Char Dham' project. The statue has been set up in the west, at the Ashram of Bapu Keshvanand Ji in Morbi, the PMO informed. Hanuman Jayanti is a Hindu festival celebrated by devotees of Lord Hanuman to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Hindu god. Meanwhile, hundreds of devotees visited Hanuman temples across the country to offer prayers on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. In Delhi, devotees visited Marghat Hanuman Mandir near Kashmere Gate to offer prayers, devotees gathered in huge numbers at Hanuman temple in Connaught Place.
