Actor Neha Sharma to contest for Lok Sabha polls? Cong MLA hints at her political debut
PTC News Desk: Bollywood actor Neha Sharma may enter politics during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to her father, Congress leader Ajay Sharma.
Ajay Sharma, an MLA from Bihar's Bhagalpur, told reporters that if the Congress wins the Bhagalpur seat as part of the party's seat-sharing agreement with allies, he will nominate his daughter as the candidate.
"Congress should get Bhagalpur; we will fight and win the seat. If Congress wins Bhagalpur, I would like my daughter Neha Sharma to run, as I am already an MLA. But if the party wants me to fight, I will do so," Ajay Sharma stated.
Neha Sharma made her debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in 'Crook' and has since appeared in films such as 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior', 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2', 'Tum Bin 2', and 'Mubarakan'. She is also popular on social media for her travel content, with over 21 million Instagram followers.
Sharma also stated that the INDIA alliance will "wipe out" the BJP from Bihar in these elections. "We will remove the NDA from Bihar. Bihar will take responsibility for removing Narendra Modi from power this time," he stated.
