Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Rahul Gandhi's cross-country march enters PM Modi's constituency Varanasi
Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: On the second day of its Uttar Pradesh leg, Rahul Gandhi's Congress-led 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' entered PM Modi's constituency Varanasi.
Rahul Gandhi, the party's state president Ajay Rai, and other congress leaders toured the temple town's crowded Gudauli area from the top of an open jeep. Gandhi also went to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Pallavi Patel, the leader of the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), and the Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Sirathu also participated in the yatra in Varanasi.
On Friday, the yatra entered the state from Bihar, stopping in Chanduali for the night.
Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, has announced that he will participate in the yatra in Rae Bareli.
The yatra will pass through Uttar Pradesh before entering Rajasthan. The east-west Manipur-Mumbai yatra will travel 6,700 kilometres through 15 states, highlighting the message of 'nyay' (justice) while meeting ordinary people along the way.
