'Roti, beti, maati': BJP evokes sentiments to woo voters for Jharkhand Assembly polls
Jharkhand Assembly polls: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today stirred the sentiments of the Jharkhand people with words "Roti, Beti, Maati." Chouhan is campaigning for the BJP in Jharkhand, which is gearing up for a high-stakes election battle.
"I promise you on behalf of PM Modi and JP Nadda that if BJP gets elected in Jharkhand, we will ensure the protection of your roti, beti, and 'maati," he said.
Here, 'roti' represents the state's current unemployment rate, while 'beti' underlines the subject of 'love jihad' and atrocities against women. Meanwhile,'maati' refers to 'land jihad' as a result of the inflow of illegal infiltrators into Jharkhand. Interestingly, women voters have responded positively to the BJP's campaign so far. They appeared to have established an emotional connection with the saffron party.
The BJP has gotten an organic response from voters in Jharkhand, indicating a shift in the traditional voting base of JMM and Congress.
From November to December, the 81-member Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will exercise suffrage. All political parties, including the JMM, Congress, and BJP, are fighting for Ranchi. As per the current trends, the BJP enjoys a significant advantage over its rivals.
The Election Commission of India announced Tuesday that the Jharkhand assembly elections will be held in two stages, on November 13 and 20. The results will be released on November 23.
