Congress to participate in exit poll debates after 'consensus' with INDIA bloc

PTC Web Desk: The Congress said it will participate in the exit poll debates, a day after announcing its non-participation, calling them "speculation and a slugfest for TRP."

The Congress made a U-turn after meeting with INDIA bloc parties on Saturday, the final day of voting in the Lok Sabha election.

Party spokesperson Pawan Khera stated that the INDIA bloc parties have decided to "expose" the Bharatiya Janata Party and its "ecosystem" on the "prefixed exit polls."

"INDIA parties met and decided to expose the BJP and its ecosystem on the prefixed exit polls. After considering factors for and against participating in the exit polls, it has been decided by consensus that all the INDIA parties will participate in the exit poll debates on television this evening," Khera posted on X.

The exit polls will be released after voting in the final phase of the elections ends on June 1.

The Lok Sabha Elections are being held in seven phases. While the first six phases have concluded, the final phase is scheduled for June 1. Voting is currently underway in 57 constituencies across eight states and union territories. The votes will be counted on June 4.
