Saffron wave surges: Kangana Ranaut leads BJP rally in Jodhpur amidst huge support

PTC News Desk: Actress Kangana Ranaut, endorsed by the BJP as their candidate from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, orchestrated an impressive procession in Rajasthan recently, fervently rallying for party candidate Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Jodhpur.

Draped in a distinctive Rajasthani safa, Kangana Ranaut was enveloped by a throng of party loyalists and enthusiasts as she navigated through the streets of Jodhpur, resonating with the spirited refrains of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Jai Shree Ram."

In conversation with NDTV, Ms. Ranaut, brandishing a BJP flag, expressed her conviction in the steadfast support of the people of Jodhpur for the BJP. "There was a saffron wave, and there will continue to be one," she asserted. "The palpable enthusiasm and fervor of the people are unmistakable; their unwavering allegiance to the BJP is evident," she added.

Additionally, she lent her support to BJP leader PP Chaudhary in Pali, where she vehemently condemned the Congress for launching personal attacks against her. "The Congress resorted to slander and tarnished my character. However, I stood firm and resilient against their assaults because I, too, embody the spirit of Rajasthan," she declared.

A contentious remark made by Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate regarding Kangana Ranaut's political debut had triggered a substantial uproar. Subsequently, Ms. Shrinate issued a video clarification, acknowledging and retracting the 'inappropriate posts' made from her account without her consent.

The Congress subsequently replaced Supriya Shrinate as a candidate from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, the same constituency she contested in 2019. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections commenced last Friday, with voting taking place for 102 seats across 21 states and Union Territories, including 12 of Rajasthan's 25 seats. The next phase of voting is scheduled for April 26.
