Sanjay Raut criticises Ajit Pawar's offer to Sharad Pawar: "You don't hold that leadership stature"
Mumbai, August 16: Amidst media reports suggesting that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar offered Sharad Pawar a position in the Union Cabinet, Sanjay Raut, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT), strongly criticised the move, asserting that "Ajit Pawar is not that big a leader to make an offer to Sharad Pawar."
Raut further emphasized, "Pawar Sahab made Ajit Pawar, and Ajit Pawar didn't make Sharad Pawar. His (Sharad Pawar's) stature is high."

Earlier, media reports had quoted an unnamed former Maharashtra Chief Minister from the Congress who claimed that during a secretive meeting, Ajit Pawar had extended offers to senior Pawar to secure him a place in the Union Cabinet.
Reflecting on this, Raut questioned, "Pawar Sahab has been a stalwart in parliamentary politics for an extensive period. He has served as Chief Minister of Maharashtra four times. Can individuals like Ajit Pawar and Hasan Mushrif really make offers to him? Is this the norm in politics?"

Addressing the Centre's decision to rename The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) as Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML), Raut remarked, "What else are they left with? You may alter the building's name, but you can't erase the historical mention of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru."
"You can't change the legacy built by Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Savarkar ji... You can't replicate their historical significance, so you resort to changing names," Raut pointed out.
Previously, Congress leader Nana Patole criticised Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar for their clandestine meeting, stating that "Such meetings create confusion among the people. If they are relatives, what was the need for a secretive rendezvous?"
Sharad Pawar had earlier refuted claims of any secret meeting between him and his nephew Ajit Pawar, stating, "What's wrong with meeting my nephew? How can it be a secret when it was held at someone's residence? I was at his residence."
