PSPCL clears outstanding arrears of electricity bills worth Rs 77.37 cr

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has cleared the outstanding arrears of electricity bills worth Rs 77.37 crore of 96,911 domestic consumers having load below 2 KW till date.

Also read | Harish Chaudhary is Punjab Congress affairs in-charge, Harish Rawat relieved of duties Punjab to review 'excess' electricity bills of scheduled caste, backward class familiesA spokesperson for the Chief Minister’s Office on Friday said five zones across the state namely; Sub Urban Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, City Amritsar circles, Central zone (East Ludhiana, West Ludhiana, Khanna, Sub Urban Ludhiana), North zone (Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr), South zone (Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Ropar, Mohali) and West zone (Bathinda, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Muktsar) had as many as 15.85 lakh beneficiaries with total liability of Rs 1,505 crore. Of this, the outstanding electricity bill arrears worth Rs 77.37 crore had been waived.
