The issue has also reached the Akal Takht. Davinder Pal Singh was convicted in the 1993 Delhi bomb blast case, is undergoing life imprisonment after the Supreme Court commuted his death sentence. He was sentenced to death by a designated TADA court on August 25, 2001. He was shifted to Amritsar Central Jail in June 2015 and is facing serious health issues. As the case pertains to Delhi, it is the choice of the Delhi Government, to sign his premature release order. It has also come out that the AAP-led Delhi government’s Sentence Review Board (SRB) had already rejected the plea to release Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar in December 2020. The SRB is headed by Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain. Here is the viral letter.
