Pune (Maharashtra), March 5: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Pune, all paragliding activities and hot balloon flights have been restricted in the district as part of security arrangements, said officials on Saturday. According to the order issued by District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, the restriction will begin at midnight of March 5 and will last till March 6 at midnight and those violating the restriction imposed will be punished accordingly. "Legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the order under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code," the order issued by District Collector read. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Maharashtra's Pune on Sunday where he will launch various development projects including metro rail service. Paragliding, balloon flights restricted in Pune Moreover, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., portions of the Karve and Paud roads will be blocked for vehicular traffic. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rahul Shrirame has issued directives. Traffic will be redirected to alternative routes. Vehicles travelling from Karve Road to Kothrud will be diverted at Tilak Chowk and then to Karishma Society through Dandekar Bridge or Mhatre Bridge D P Road. Vehicles travelling from Shivtirth Nagar to the Deccan area would be diverted at Mayur Colony. The Congress party in Maharashtra had issued free tickets to the workers and requested them to return to their respective states.
