12 injured after blast at effigy-making factory caused by gunpowder in Ludhiana
PTC News Desk: A blast was reported in a house at Indra Colony in Ludhiana on Thursday and around 12 persons sustained burn injuries. Four people who received serious burn injuries were referred to Rajendra Medical Hospital in Patiala.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the blast occurred at his house in a small, congested street.
According to the reports, the blast occurred at a house, which was laden with significant amount of gunpowder, which caused the blast. The house belongs to a person who makes effigies during the Dussehra festival and uses gunpowder for the same.
The Commissioner of Police, Swapan Sharma, said owner Usman khan had stored potash in his house, which caught fire and resulted in the blast.
An FIR has been registered into the case.
