3 PSEB toppers to get cash reward

Cash reward to PSEB toppers: Punjab School Education Board announced the PSEB class 8th examination on Friday. The results were announced via a press conference to be conducted by the Board. 

This year around 3 lakh candidates have registered for PSEB Class 8 exam. Lovepreet Kaur from Mansa’s Budhlada topped with 100 per cent. Gurankit Kaur from Mansa’s Budhalda secured second position with 100 per cent and Simranpreet Kaur from Ludhiana’s Bassian secured third position with 99.67 per cent.

Meanwhile, in Class 8, girls outperformed boys with an overall pass percentage of 98.68 per cent while boys secured 98.41 per cent in Class 8. 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to his official Twitter handle to congratulate the PSEB toppers and announced cash reward to Rs 51,000 to all the three toppers.

Moreover, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains also posted on social media, congratulating the girls and extending his best wishes to their parents.

The locals were jubilant after the result was announced.

Notably, this year, a total of 2, 98,127 candidates appeared for the exam and 2,92,206 candidates have passed it for an overall pass percentage of 98.01 per cent.

Pathankot claimed the top spot with 99.33 per cent pass percentage, followed by Kapurthala (99.10%) and Gurdaspur (99.08%). Moga has the lowest pass percentage at 96.79 per cent.
