Another accused from Punjab held in connection with Batala grenade case

PTC News Desk: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested another acused from Punjab in connection with the grenade attack on Quila Lal Singh police station in Batala earlier this year.

The accused, identified as Karanbir (22), a resident of Gurdaspur, is allegedly a key operative of the banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

“He is suspected to have played a role in the April 2025 attack and was currently wanted in a case of arms trafficking,” a senior Delhi Police officer said.

Earlier a week ago, another suspect, Akashdeep Singh  alias Bazz(22) was arrested from Indore, Madhya Pradesh for his alleged involvement in the same incident and allegiance with BKI.

The grenade attack occurred in April 2025, when unidentified individuals targeted the Quila Lal Singh police station in Batala, Gurdaspur district.

Soon after the incident, a social media post surfaced in which known BKI operatives—Happy Passiya, Mannu Agwan, and Gopi Nawanshahria—allegedly claimed responsibility and issued threats targeting Delhi.

In response, Delhi Police’s anti-terror unit promptly launched an investigation and placed suspects linked to the attack under close surveillance.

According to sources, intelligence reports indicated Karanbir's presence in Punjab, enabling the police to pinpoint his location and eventually apprehend him.
