Another triple murder in Jalandhar: A tragic incident unfolded at Pende Tower in Inkley Phase 3, within the jurisdiction of Lamba police station in Jalandhar, where a family dispute turned deadly. Harpreet Singh, the younger son of the family, fatally shot and killed his mother, Jagbir Singh, and his brother, Gagan, in their residence, located at house number 175 in Tower Enclave. The victims were identified as Jagtar Singh, Amrit Pal Kaur, and Gagandeep.

The distressing incident was reported to authorities at approximately 8 o'clock, prompting the rapid response of DSP Kartarpur Balveer Singh and his police team. Upon arriving at the scene, which falls under the Lamba police station's jurisdiction within Tower Revolution, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Jagtar Singh, Amrit Pal Kaur, and Gagandeep within their home.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Jagbir Singh had fired five shots, while Amrit Pal Kaur and Gagandeep had been hit by one bullet each. The root cause of this tragic event was determined to be a property dispute, as Harpreet had persistently pressured his parents to transfer ownership of the house to him. The ongoing disagreement culminated on that fateful Thursday when Harpreet, pushed by his greed for property, took the lives of his mother,  Jagbir Singh, and his mentally disabled brother.

Jagtar Singh, who worked as a security guard in a private company, possessed Danali and Point 32 bore laser weapons, which were used in the incident. The police found nearly empty cartridges at the scene, indicating that the three victims had succumbed to approximately seven bullets.

Following the heinous act, Harpreet locked the house and absconded. It was reported that he went to watch a movie immediately after committing the murders, leaving behind the gruesome scene. Upon receiving information about the incident around 8 pm, the police initiated a search for Harpreet, deploying multiple teams and conducting extensive raids to swiftly apprehend him.

The possibility of Harpreet surrendering to the authorities also arose during the investigation. Around 11 pm, reports suggested that Harpreet had turned himself in at a police station and confessed to the crime. However, the police continued to deny any voluntary surrender, maintaining their active pursuit of Harpreet during the search operation.
