Banur encounter: Punjab Police arrest 2 gangsters, recover weapons
Banur encounter: The Patiala Police have nabbed two gangsters from Banur, Rajpura, who were involved in two shooting incidents on Saturday night and seized a revolver and pistol.
One of the incidents occurred at the Rajpura-Patiala toll plaza, the other at a Rajpura liquor vend.
The gangsters have been identified as Deepak and Ramandeep Singh. According to sources, Deepak has been injured during the encounter.
The cops intercepted them as they were on their way from Mohali. In an attempt to avoid arrest, they opened fire on the cops. In defence, the cops returned fire, injuring one of the gangsters in the crossfire.
According to a post on social networking site X by DGP Punjab police, the suspects have a criminal background.
