BJP should not interfere in internal affairs of Sikhs: Gurcharan Singh Grewal
Amritsar, November 18: Gurcharan Singh Grewal, general Secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) once again urged BJP to stop interfering in Sikh issues.
Regarding this, a prayer march was taken out today by the Sikh Student Federation, starting from Amritsar's Bharawa da Dhaba and reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib. In which prayers were offered by reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Speaking, Gurcharan Singh Grewal said, “Delhi and the cat are not far from us and Sikhs have won and left Delhi many times.”
Earlier, in the letter to Mohan Bhagwat, Gurcharan Singh Grewal of the SGPC alleged that during the annual election of the office-bearers of SGPC on November 9, the BJP-led Haryana Government and its leaders allegedly interfered with 'Panthic' traditions and Sikh organisations.
"If it is happening without your knowledge then you should immediately intervene and if it is with your knowledge then it is the right time for your organisation to think upon your ideological approach as this is creating a rift in mutual religious relations in this multi-cultural and multi-religious society, which I fear will deepen in future. This phenomenon will create instability in the minds of Sikhs which is not good for the country. Earlier also, the anti-Sikh Congress party has been interfering in such a manner. Today, on the historical foundation day of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar, we suggest that the RSS and the BJP should stop interfering in Sikh issues. We hope that you will think deeply about this and stay away from the activities of the Sikh organizations and the activities that complicate the issues of Sikhs in the future," reads the letter.
