Captain Amarinder Singh advocates for BJP-SAD alliance in Punjab for 2027 Assembly polls
PTC News Desk: BJP leader Captain Amarinder Singh has advocated for alliance between Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP in Punjab for the Assembly elections in 2027.
In an interview with a news channel, Singh said that the BJP doesn't understand the state and they require to build their cadre to win 2027 polls.
"If you want to win the 2027 assembly election, you will have to build your cadre, but it will take two to three elections."
He said that having an alliance with the Akali Dal only can help the party win.
Notably both the BJP and the SAD have had a long standing alliance sharing power in the state until the Centre introduced anti-farmer bills, later repealed. The three bills created a rift between the parties prompting SAD to pull out in solidarity with the farmers. The farmers strongly protested against the laws forcing the government to withdraw them.
