'Don't love the way you lie...' Punjab Police share meme on fake news amid crackdown on Amritpal Singh
Chandigarh, March 21: In the midst of a massive crackdown on Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, Punjab Police have shared a meme to raise awareness about fake news, which can potentially lead to tension and law and order issues.
The meme depicts the state police trying to spread awareness about misinformation and rumours.
"We don't love the way you lie (But we will definitely catch up to you) Think twice before sharing any type of news on social media! #FakeDiKhairNahi," the official handle of Punjab Police stated.

The meme message comes amid a spate of rumours about the Khalistani leader's whereabouts, some of which may incite people.
Punjab Police chief Sukhchain Singh Gill stated that the state was completely peaceful and urged people not to believe rumours or fake news. He stated that those found spreading disinformation will face severe consequences.
On Saturday, Punjab launched a statewide crackdown on Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh.
After his cavalcade was stopped in Jalandhar, the Khalistani leader managed to flee. Over the last two days, police have arrested over 100 of the Khalistani leader's aides, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him.
