ED conducts raids at premises of Municipal Corporation contractor Amit Bajaj in Jalandhar
PTC News Desk: The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday conducted raids at the premises of Municipal Corporation contractor Amit Bajaj in Jalandhar.
Bajaj, along with his brother, has been a major contractor for the Municipal Corporation and other government departments not only in Jalandhar but also in Ludhiana, Mohali and other states, including Gujarat.
The duo was reportedly involved in running societies for outsourcing manpower.
According to the sources, Bajaj had funded programmes of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and provided financial assistance during the elections in the past. He was considered close assosicate to the party's top leadership and was often seen attending the meetings.

Prior to the AAP government coming to power in Punjab, the Bajaj brothers were also reportedly close to leaders of political parties that were previously in power.
