Gangwar engulfs Chandigarh: Man shot dead in Sector 26, Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility
PTC News Desk: A gangster associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, was shot dead inside a car in Chandigarh's Sector 26 on Monday night in what police believe inter-gang rivalry stemmed from murder of Lawrence's close associate, Jora Sidhu alias Sippa in Dubai last month.
A Facebook post under the handle 'Hari Boxer Aarzoo Bishnoi' claimed responsibility for the attack claiming it a revenge for Sippa's killing. ' A new war began today', the post read.
The victim has been identified as Inderpreet Parry, 35, a resident of Sector 35, Chandigarh. He was currently out on bail after wanting in several cases related to murder, extortion across Punjab and Chandigarh.
A total of 11 rounds were fired — five inside the car and six from outside by three to four assailants inside the Creta. Police said the victim sustained six to seven bullet wounds, including a fatal shot to the chest. He was married barely fortnight ago.
Investigators said they found five empty bullet shells inside the car, which matched the pistol used by the attacker from inside the vehicle.
Right after the first shots were fired, a white Hyundai Creta that had been following the Kia stopped nearby. The people inside it fired additional shots at Parry, reportedly to make sure he was killed.
Within moments, all the shooters escaped in the Creta, which had a fake number plate, heading towards Panchkula. Forensic teams confirmed that bullet fire had shattered the windows of Parry’s Kia.
People passing by heard the gunfire, informed the police, and helped take Parry to PGIMER, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
