Punjab to invite Prez, PM Modi, all CMs to event commemorating 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

PTC Web Desk: To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab Government has extended invitations to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the occasion, which is expected to be held on a large scale to honour the supreme sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru.

It is learnt that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will personally visit New Delhi to invite the President and the Prime Minister to the commemorative event. The Punjab Government has decided to invite the Chief Ministers of all states across India. To ensure this, ministers from Punjab have been assigned specific states to deliver invitations in person.


Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak will travel to West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha to invite their respective Chief Ministers. Ministers Aman Arora and Tarunpreet Singh Sondh will visit Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand.

Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh and Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian have been assigned to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Similarly, Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO and Barinder Kumar Goyal will visit Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.

Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Tourism and Cultural Affairs Advisor Deepak Bali will extend invitations to the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The Punjab Government has completed the blueprint for the entire programme, which aims to showcase the life, teachings, and martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who laid down his life for the protection of faith and human rights.
