Hoshiarpur man swept away in strong currents of Kali Bein
Hoshiarpur, July 23: Following heavy rains, a 51-year-old man was washed away by the powerful currents of the Kali Bein rivulet here, police said on Sunday.
According to Dasuya Station House Officer Balwinder Singh, the incident occurred on Saturday evening when Mohinder Pal of Alampur village here, along with some villagers, walked near the Kali Bein rivulet, which was in flow due to heavy rainfall in the area.
When Pal entered the water, he was swept away by the rivulet's powerful currents, according to Singh.
Pal's friends failed to save him, he added.
The SHO stated that efforts are being made to locate the victim.
