PTC Web Desk: Farmer leader jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 93 days at the Punjab-Haryana Khanauri border, has suffered a health setback. His blood pressure suddenly spiked, followed by a fever of 103.6°F. A team of doctors is closely monitoring his condition, and efforts are underway to bring down his fever using cold compresses.

According to farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar, Dallewal's health worsened on Tuesday, and by 5 am on Wednesday, his fever had risen to 103.6°F. Medical reports have revealed that ketones in his urine have tested positive, indicating potential health complications.

Due to the deteriorating health of Dallewal, an emergency press conference has been scheduled today at 5 pm at Khanauri border. Farmers and supporters have been urged to gather in large numbers at the Khanauri border to strengthen the movement.

Notably, following two rounds of negotiations with the Central Government that resumed on February 14 after nearly a year, farmers have put their planned March to Delhi on hold. The latest meeting on February 22, led by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, saw farmers present their demands. The Central Government has now sought expert consultations before making a decision.

As a result, farmers from Punjab and Haryana have decided to delay their march to Delhi until after March 19, as confirmed by farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher on Monday.
