Lower retirement age for teachers: College teachers to boycott classes on Feb 15
Chandigarh, February 14: Teachers working in non-government private aided colleges of Punjab have up the ante against the Punjab Government after the state's move to lower the retirement age.
Notably, the Punjab government has decided to lower the retirement age from 60 to 58 years for teachers working in non-government private aided colleges of Punjab (under grant-in-aid scheme).
Protesting against the move, college teachers will boycott classes from 10 am to 2 pm on Wednesday. Moreover, they will also take out a protest march on February 16 and submit demand letter to Deputy Commissioners.
